Performance Surface Black and Dialog Box bug
Moderator:PywareTechSupport
Hello -
I'm running into a problem with the performance surface in Real View. I have selected the High School Football surface, but when I toggle it on, the field turns black and there are no field markings. I'm running v 7.0.3 and updated my graphics card drivers this afternoon (to see if it would help). I've tried other surfaces and have the same problem. Any thoughts? It's obviously not a huge deal since I can still view the basic grid (and can certainly write without it), but I would like to get it working soon.
Also, I have run into some buggy dialog box behavior. If I open, say, the Cast List Editor, and then Edit Symbol Map, if I save a change or apply changes to count 0, the Edit Symbol Map dialog disappears. Sometimes it stays away until I click somewhere else, sometimes it comes back on its own after a few seconds. This has happened in a few places, not just with the Cast List Editor. There's been some other similarly-buggy behavior with dialog boxes not behaving as expected.
v7 does look like a great improvement, though. Keep it up!

What graphics card are you using?
We are looking into the issue with some windows not sorting to the front properly.

Re: Performance Surface Black and Dialog Box bug
I updated it through the website after I ran the auto-detect feature.
Re: Performance Surface Black and Dialog Box bug
Casey,
Try this for us:
Right click your 3D shortcut and choose "Run with Graphics Processor _____________." Choose the High Performance NVIDIA Processor option and see if the surface is still black when loaded.
Thanks!

If you do not have that option please try one of the attached surfaces to see if you get a different outcome.

Re: Performance Surface Black and Dialog Box bug
Oops. Sorry I sent you a few e-mails before checking back here. I tried running it with the high-performance processor and it worked! Why doesn't NVidia default to that? Sheesh.
Thanks a bunch!
As I said in my e-mail (but not here), the dialog box program seems to have fixed itself. I switched to classic view last night to get through what I was doing, and when I tried switching back earlier today, it was fine. Doesn't make sense (and may have to do with something else), but that's what happened. Thanks again!

Re: Performance Surface Black and Dialog Box bug
I recently upgraded to v8, and the dialog box bug has returned! RIght now I'm trying to build a new production, but the dialog box is hiding and I can't make it come into focus. Hoping it will just fix itself again like it did in 7, but it's happened several times already. This time I didn't open another dialog within this one, I simply selected New Production under the File menu. The dialog box popped up and immediately disappeared. I can't click on anything else within Pyware. If I alt-tab around I can sometimes get it into focus, but it doesn't usually stay long enough to do anything.
Re: Performance Surface Black and Dialog Box bug
If the screen gets stuck please try to press escape or alt+f4.
Also please try to install the software from the website again.
