Windows 10

Post by Designer1971 » Tue Aug 11, 2015 12:20 am

Hello,

I recently installed version 8 and was wondering if I should download Windows 10 when it becomes available? Will this affect my PyWare in ANY way?

Thanks,

Michael

Morning Michael,

I have been running Windows 10 since day 1. Version 8 is fully supported on Windows 10, and I have yet to come across any issue between the two.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Michael

We have had several users upgrade to Windows 10 so far.

Assuming there were no issues with the upgrade then the software works properly.

We have had a handful of users that had to reinstall after the upgrade, but after that everything was functioning properly.
Thank you

I'm trying out the demo on Windows 10 and the install seemed to stop prior to everything being done. It said Installing... and just sat there. Eventually I ended up quitting the install app, but 3D seems to work. I do have what looks like code running along the left side of the Real View window though. This is on Windows 10 on a Surface 3 Pro

I have seen this occur before if you do not run the installer as an administrator. What's happening here is the installer is trying to install a font 3D uses into your System's font folder, but Windows doesn't think the installer has permission to do so. As you can see, if you quit the installer, 3D will run properly as moving that font is the last step in the installation process. Everything critical has already been taken care of at this point. You took the right course of action here.

If you would like to install the font manually, you can do so by going to C:/Program Files/Pyware 3D/lib/factory/forAppDataLib/fonts and copying both PYJAVA2.ttf and pyview.ttf to your desktop. Once the fonts are on your desktop, go to your Control Panel / Fonts folder and drop those fonts on your desktop into your fonts folder.

Those are statistics for the Real View. They can be disabled by going to File > Application Options > Display (tab).

Hope this helps!

Is anybody else having screen resolution issues with Windows 10? I have a Surface Book and for whatever reason I am unable to get the tool bars to appear at a normal size. Everything is very, very small and difficult to use, even when I maximize the program.

I've tried changing my screen resolution settings to no avail. Any help would be great.

The best option would be to set your screen resolution to 1920x1080, instead of the high resolution you have set currently.

Instructions on Windows 10 changing resolution http://www.thewindowsclub.com/change-sc ... ndows-10-2

We are working on an update to allow the UI to be adjustable.

Changing the Screen Resolution isn't helping, unfortunately. All the in-app boxes and tools are still very, very small. The format of the program itself works better with the smaller resolution, which is helpful, but the count track and all the buttons are basically unusable.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm using a Surface Book.

In versions less than 9 you are not able to increase the size of the tool boxes. You would need to change your screen resolution to 1920 x 1080. This would make everything larger for you.

In version 9, it is possible to change the tool box sizes? How does that get done? I just upgraded.

Go to File> Application Options> Ease of Access. There is a User Interface Size slider at the bottom that will allow you to increase the UI Size. This size adjustment requires the program to restart for the changes to take effect.
